I have an approved script in the Chronic Dept. Since the beginning of May, I have not received one of the drugs as there is a supplier shortage. I contacted Direct Medicines (the bulk supplier) who indicated that the shortage is expected to last until the end of June and I was advised to go in to a Clicks Pharmacy to see if they had the medication. After phoning all Clicks pharmacies in Johannesburg, one pharmacy indicated they had a generic. I confirmed with my specialist that this drug was acceptable and went to collect it. I then received a claim statement showing that discovery has paid for the generic of an approved chronic medicine from my medical savings account. For the past two weeks I have been phoning Discovery Health to resolve this to no avail. This amounts to my savings because of a supplier issue that has nothing to do with me. Don't assume that because you have a huge market share that you can get away with this!!! I want this resolved and my MSA credited asap
