After finally getting a response to numerous & repeated email queries (and more reference numbers than a care to remember!) I have my simple query answered & my son's surgery (non urgent) is booked.
Due to unforeseen circumstances (and school examinations being written too!) surgery is re-booked and surgeon issues a supporting / motivational letter (you need one from the school too?!)
We also all know, surgeons have dedicated "theatre days" that they operate on.
Now the catch... the surgery is 15 days "too late", my son has turned 13 years old in the interim and I must pay more than DOUBLE (R3650) the original "top-up" amount (R1450?) now needs to be paid to the hospital on admission because he is 15 days older!
Nice Discovery Health, the poor kid may have to walk around with a crooked smile for his teenage years / the rest of his life, because he was 15 days late or dedicated to getting an education, shame on you!
