So I was an employee at Mutual and Federal in Johannesburg and had to join this medical aid as the employer forces us to take it unless you are covered under your spouse. I joined Medscheme savings plan in June 2012 and I left Mutual and Federal in 2012.11.30. I resigned on the 1st of November and served my notice till the month ended. To my surprise in May I get a letter dated 09 April 2013 stating that I owe Nedgroup Medscheme and have to pay some cancellation fees. I find this insane, what cancellation fee is this? If Mutual and Federal probably cancelled later its not my problem. No one in your call centers even bother to call me and explain what this is. Better fix this as its unacceptable. When I joined M&F no one said anything about cancellation fees mind you not even to even bother to educate the staff and let them understand about your product.
