On the 2nd May I had an accident whereby I fell badly. I injured my face, arm, fingers and toe. Two of my fingers were dislocated. One of which was cut to the bone. I was bleeding profusley and suffering from shock. I am nearly 68 years old. My daughter rushed me to the Mulbarton Hospital for treatment. I was in the operating theatre when a clerk came in and told me I have to pay R5000.00 co-payment. I had no option but to ask my daughter to swipe my credit card. I had to get the treatment and was in terrible pain. I have since tried to get my money back but was told I would have to have an accident or worse for me to go to the Mulbarton Hospital. I have to go to Delta Network hospitals. I would like them to define the word accident!!! I now have to pay a further R650.00 to go to another Dr at the Bedford Gardens Hospital as I am not allowed back at the Mulbarton Hospital and also have no further savings. I am desperate and a pensioner!
