Do Fedhealth really care?

My cardiologist requested that I take an additional drug Ezetrol 10 mg even though I am on Crestor 40 mg. My cholesterol is slightly below 3. The new international protocol stands at 1.8. My cardiologist sent a letter to motivate the request but it has since been declined. It cost R 400 per month. It seems to me that Fedhealth are not in line with international best practices.
