Liberty Medical Scheme
Deceiving Cove

As a member of Liberty Medical Scheme on the Bona plus option my dependents and I are covered for basic dentistry like tooth fillings. I made an appointment with the listed network dentist to assist my child with a persistent tooth ache. At the dentist office it was determent that the child needs a number of teeth filled. Dering a telephone call before this visit I was informed that up to five teeth per day are covered for fillings. The dentist informed us that due to the child's age the procedure is impossible to be done in he's rooms (he would not sit still) so it is common practice for it then to be done in hospital. After requesting a pre auth number from the medical aid I was informed that this is not covered. So I am now forced to go to a government hospital and and say that I do not have a medical aid in order to get the procedure done and in the meantime my child is in agony continuously. The medical aid insist that fore it to be covered it would have to be done in the dentist's rooms. So basically you are deceived into believing that your child is covered when in fact the medical aid know he/she is not because of the age the procedure would be done in hospital.
