Poor Communication

Medi-Clinic are incapable of communicating effectively. I took my daughter to ER due to a high temperature, once discharged, I wanted to pay the bill, but the person at the counter told me that they would send it on to the medical aid because they had an issue with their terminals or something.

I am on a VITAL plan and was concerned that it would not be covered. As a principal, I prefer to pay the bill and claim from the Medical Aid as opposed to letting them submit. Medi-Clinic tell me that they communicated with my wife and not with me - the person responsible for the bill.

They have now listed me with ITC for a R440 bill, which has been paid.

They sent a letter dated 09/04/2013, which I only received today (21/05/2013). The lady in the claims department says an SMS was sent with the amount and bank account details. Who pays bills based on an SMS. I will pay on statement or invoice.

Come on Medi-Clinic what about basic business practice.
