For 15 years I have been going to the same Life hospital with no problem, now all of a sudden I have to pay 20% of the bill as they are not a DSP upon admission I was not informed by any of the parties about this only to receive a statement in April saying that I am liable. According to the benefit schedule and as per previous years I have to pay R500 deductible if not an emergency. Now I am asking when my wife has blood coming from her rectum, is that normal?? Do you then go to hospital for a gastroscopy out of boredom?? Blame is being shifted between the 2 parties and I have to waste my time to get this bill paid. My greatest wish in life is for my company to give us the freedom to choose our own medical aid than more than half will leave Bankmed.
