My lady was pregnant last year and was due for delivery in Feb 2013, we had made all the arrangement for delivery with medforum in Pretoria central late last year. We got authorisations from bankmed and we were just waiting for that special day. On the 19 dec my lady had to admitted at Louis Pasteur hospital as her Bp was high, I then called the medical aid to find out what the procedure was cause she was registered at medforum, the consultant told me that all is fine they will just have to change the authorisation from medforum to Louis pasture hospital. They will pay 100%. My lady had to go for c-section and the baby stayed in ICU for 2months, now that my baby girl is out of hospital and payment has to be made, now they are telling me they will only pay 80% and I'm liable for the remaining 20%, because the payments are now being handled by care cross and Louis pasture hospital is not part of them. This is not on, it's not my problem who took over what, I made arrangements with banked which is my medical aid, care cross are still part of bankmed, I need that account to be paid in full. It's bad enough that we are forced to choose bankmed as our medical aid.
