Our office went through a break in a couple of months ago.
We decided it was time to up our security and my boss wanted quotes for a number of different solutions that could protect us in the future from such an event. Raymond came in, did the assessment and gave us the quote.
I then handed this on to my boss and after much deliberation a decision was finally made on what we believe to be the most cost effective solution. Bear in mind this did take a couple of months for a decision from my boss to be made. Great. I send an email saying that we would like to go ahead with one of the solutions. It takes another 2-3 weeks of emailing and phoning him and his unapologetic and disinterested secretary to eventually get this out of him: "I was avoiding the job because you took too long with the quote."
Great. Amend the quote maybe? Reply to my emails? Have the guts to say you do not want our business up front? All of those were options. Needless to say we will be looking for another business who will gladly take our money.
Sloth. It's in the name.
