I purchased a 3.5mm stereo jack from A1 Radio at 525 Umgeni Rd Durban on the 201/09/2013. A few days later i decided to solder the jack onto my headphone unit. I plugged the jack into my equipment to determine the configuration of the cable. Once determined i proceeded to remove the jack in order to solder the cables in place, only to remove the plug and a piece was left behind.
I took everything the following morning to A1 Radio to let them know that the jack that they sold me was faulty and that they needed to sort out my equipment by getting the piece of jack out. After waiting for about 10 minutes Basil came to have a look at the jack. I began to explain to him what had happened, only for him to cut me off and tell me that he does not know what negligence I did. I told him that i did not even begin to solder the jack, I just plugged it into my equipment and then took it out.
I was then told that there is nothing they can do for me, I must figure a way of sorting it out!
I feel that this is disgusting for a company to operate like this, especially if they are selling to the public in a daily basis. They need to take responsibility for the products that they are selling.
