Some brief background:
A) On the Monday 9th September I made an EFT of R3400 in payment for a camera from Best Cameras, a courier delivery was meant to take place on Wednesday 11th. Prior to this I'd received prompt responses to emails & what seemed to be valid technical advice.
B) On Tuesday 10th when checking the parcel delivery via the Internet tracking number I was surprised to see that the parcel was being delivered from Kenya. I queried that there would be no customs duty implications.
C) On Wednesday 11th I received a garbled telephone call stating that I must pay more than the value of the original invoice in customs duty to have the goods released. (The original quote & invoice had made no mention of any customs duty payment. The invoice for R3400 included a delivery charge of R200 & the invoice indicated that the R3400 was the full amount owed.)
D) Since then communication & delivery from the supplier has been no existent, despite my telephonic & email follow up.
