Apple iPhone 5 battery drain problem

I have recently received a new Apple iPhone 5 from Vodacom after renewing my contract. The battery life on this phone is dissapointing to say the least. My iPhone 4 had a much longer battery life. I now have to charge my iPhone 5 every night. Apple needs to take serious note of this. I have been a lifelong Apple supporter, but am now having doubts.
