Not willing to fix what they broke

I took my iphone in for a software upgrade, The technician uploaded software for the Iphone 4 onto my Iphone 3, As i walked to go pay, my phone froze and i went back to the technician, he said that it is normal, I highly doubt a phone freezing is normal but anyway! After like 4 days of getting so irritated with my phone that is freezing. I took my iPhone back in to the Istore at Waterfront and 3 weeks later i called them to ask where my phone is at first it was lost then they found it and said that they cant do anything to fix my phone i need to take it to the Ifix and get it fixed myself. (at my own cost after they have up my phone!)
