I began studying at Unisa in 2009, I started with a pgce and registered at the Florida campus. I spent about 45 minutes with a lady who explained all the subjects I needed to complete and what the purpose of completing the subjects was. I chose to do this course over 2 years and when I was done I noticed that my course was referred to as being incomplete. I looked further into this and discovered there were 3 subjects that I needed to still complete, one of which the lady had mentioned to me and told me by no means what so ever did I meed to do it. I did the subject and finally completed my course. In 2011 I applied for my honors in clinical family psychology and just to be safe met with a career counsellor so as to ensure I completed everything I needed to complete, I asked her several times if she was 100% sure that what she was telling me was correct. Now I find out I am a subject short to complete what I thought I had finally completed. I am being told I should have done 8 subjects but the career advisor was adamant that for my specific area the 7 subjects I did were all I need. I feel highly wronged and feel that unisa should hire staff who are competent. This is unacceptable
