Last year (2015) I wanted to apply for a change of my qualification, as I was not fully aware how to do this correctly because of a previous experience (with Unisa staff) I contacted them in the hopes that they could help me with this.
As no one was answering the phones (again) I had to send an email. I tried contacting them via telephone regardless to no avail.
When someone did finally get back to me, the application period had passed and I was no longer able to switch qualifications. But it was suggested to me to take the necessary modules for non-degree purposes.
It is now 2016 and I did as suggested. Now I'm being told that the module selection is invalid, it doesn't matter that I specified it was for non-degree purposes as it has to count toward a qualification if I want to make use of it and it doesn't fall under my current qualification.
I was told to go to a regional centre to try and sort it out (although I don't see how my physical presence would make a difference) but it's not at all possible right now anyway as I'm recuperating from an operation.
I asked what I can do about my current situation and was told that I can't do anything, but wait for August to change my qualification for 2017.
So in other words, I'm wasting an entire year of my life due to someone else's arrogance, ignorance and laziness. Regardless of doing my part.
I already have issues with depression and angst, but I guess you can never have enough..
