I recently requested a copy of an exam script for a paper I wrote in the May/June semester of this year. I finally received the paper and was shocked to see that 10 out of the 12 questions i answered had parts or entire sections ignored and crossed out. I do not understand how UNISA can explain this type of marking. I received 87% for my assignments and did well in 1A of this module. I can understand a questions being ignored if there is no answer alltogether but how can UNISA explain an examiner taking the liberty to just cross out a students answer. I have been granted a supplementary exam for this module which I feel is unnessesary as i should have passed this paper easily. I have requested this paper be remarked but if this is the kind of marking to be expected from UNISA then I feel I have wasted my money. I realise that the examiners have many papers to mark for some modules but there were not as many students writting my paper as there were writing an ECS paper for example. This is a third year module and more care should be taken. I also feel that more feedback should be provided to students via MyUNISA or on the exam script directly. No names are provided as to who marked.
