I registered with ICB in June, i applied for exemption and received a full exemption for one subject and a conditional exemption for one subject that i have to do a POE for. The cost for this is R1795.00 which i dont an issue with, the ICB then sent me a promotion that they are running for students that register from the beginning of June to the end of July., that will receive a 50% discount when applying for exemption. When i applied for this 50% discount i was told that i dont qualify because i registered in June. So how does this make sense? They are not available on the phone so one cant call them you can only email them, and all they say is that they apologise for taking long to resolve your query, then the next email you receive says that your query has been resolved. When you challenge them they tell you the ICB has a code of conduct and so one isnt allowed to express your dissatisfaction and exercise ones right when practising freedom of speech. i have never come across an institution that is so outdated when it comes to our democracy and the freedoms that we should enjoy after all these years of living in a democracy and especially after all these years of being oppressed and not being able to express your frustration or dissatisfaction or rather just simple customer service.
