The geyser overflow pipe located in the bathroom of our townhouse was dripping constantly into the bath. Upon contacting TOWN & COUNTRY PLUMBING (Phillippe) they informed us that the pipe should not drip at all. They sent out their workers who stated that the overflow pipe should drip and then charged R450. Upon querying with Phillippe why he about saying overflow pipes should not drip he claimed he misunderstood.
Additionally they claim that no VAT is payable if paid in cash but that if an invoice is sent then VAT would be charged. So either they cheat the tax authorities or they deliberately to clients to receive cash as how one pays does determine whether you charge VAT.
