I installed a fireplace in 2011. The first heavy downpour in 2012/2013 resulted in water pouring into and around my cast iron fireplace, damage to ceiling etc. I called fireplace warehouse and grudgingly they repaired the roof. Today is the first good downpour since that fix. They have refused to repair / make good on their installation saying I must claim from my home insurance. Essentially I paid approx R25 000 for them to ruin my house and they hide behind a one year warranty. There used to be a 7 year or until first good rains fall warranty for roofs in Gauteng. I am going to check that up. Do not use these people, rainfall is patchy and you never know when there is enough rain to test the installation and they will make you pay again in terms of excess or fix it yourself at your own cost Not Good Enough
