5 weeks ago the lift to my building in central Cape Town broke down. I have had a long term service with contract with Otis to maintain and service the lift..
After 5 weeks the lift is still not working. The tenants are now refusing to pay their rent due to the inconvenience.
Worst of all is the absolute lack of response and inaccessibility of the service manager and the lack of any feedback. E-mails are not replied to.
I managed to contact the local Cape Town Director 10 days ago by cellphone and am still awaiting response from him.
On Wednesday I tried to call the Cape Town service manager, the Cape Town Director and the Managing Director in Johannesburg and all were unavailable. I left detailed messages with the PA's of the 2 senior staff members and so far no response at all.
3 weeks ago I e-mailed the CTN service manager saying that if the lift needs a major upgrade or whatever to get it going again please give me a quote. Guess what, no response.
Otis service and expertise, accessibility of their senior staff, their feedback and their general attitude are absolutely rock bottom.
I sit with a 5 week non functioning lift, disgruntled tenants and no idea what is going on!!
