I contacted SBS Waterproofing last year to waterproof an area of my roof balcony that was leaking in the rain. I chose them from a list of contractors because they provided a written ten year guarantee against leakage.
- Six months after the work was completed, the roof started leaking in exactly the same place as before. After several enquiries Ryan responded that this was not their problem but something my painters need to sort out.
- I took them to the Small Claims Court on 29 August 2013 where the magistrate ordered Ryan to do the repair work in accordance with their guarantee. Directly after the court hearing Ryan promised to contact me within two weeks to arrange a repair date.
- Six weeks have now passed. I have made several attempts to contact Ryan. A person at the SBS office has promised that Ryan would come back to me by yesterday. Nothing.
- I may decide to take SBS to Court a second time. The saga continues.
I have lost all faith in the ability or willingness of SBS to do what they have promised. If you consider hiring people for waterproofing work, please be careful.
