Terrible customer service

The carriage of our Digidoor 24 garage door motor broke recently. Due to its poor design, this model was discontinued. Nonetheless, Hydro Doors (the distributor) maintains stock on certain products. Aware of this, I called Hydro Doors to enquire about a replacement carriage. I was very clear and specific. The person on the phone told me they had 31 in stock and quoted me the price. The next day I drove for 45 min. across to the other side of Johannesburg to collect the carriage. When I arrived and asked for the part, I was told the part no longer exists. When I explained that I had called and even been quoted, I was treated with incredulity and disdain by some of the staff. Siseko asked other employees if another carriage might work, but was rebuffed in a condescending manner by a more senior staff member right in my presence. That person showed NO interest in trying to help or to resolve the situation. No one apologized about the mistake. And no one even seemed to care. One guy even thought it was funny. However, they did try to sell me a new garage door motor. Fat chance Hydro Doors. When you learn to treat people right, maybe we can talk...
