I tried cancelling my contract with Alpha Security due to the fact that their guards refuses to enter my premises when needed as they are afraid of my dog! They also do not respond to every alarm... They initially did not cancel my contract when I requested them to do so, and kept on sending me accounts. I eventually decided to stop the debit order at the bank and they made an appointment with me to have their equipment removed from my premises, I took time off from work to open for them, and they never arrived for the appointment. I have not heard anything from them since, and almost a year later, I get a letter from a debt collector - Ultima Collect - Connie Greyling, who demands payment for a few months in 2012 as well as all their fees! Apparently Alpha Security just decided to ignore my request to cancel, refused to tell me that the cancellation had to be done in writing, and upon querying this with Ultima Collect, they sent me a copy of the contract that says I had to cancel in writing... Could have told me this over the phone when I wanted to cancel? I paid the funds over to Ultima Collect, but feel that this is awfully unfair and poor service overall.
