Whenever I call the Durban Rectron branch to enquire about Gigabyte motherboards for AMD products I am given a myriad of excuses regarding their availability, at one point in the past a rep. even told me that Rectron doesn't sell AMD products of any kind anymore! Well today was the last straw for me regarding this and their bias towards AMD products.
I am planning on upgrading to an AM3 system in the coming future and I had planned on using a Gigabyte 990FX board, such as the GA-990FXA-UD3/UD5, as the base. Except when I called Rectron today I received a less than optimal response because it seems the only board Rectron is interested in selling is the bottom of the range GA-990FXA-D3!
I also refuse to believe the UD3/5/7 boards can be EOL when the Gigabyte website reports these boards have been updated to revision 3 which includes Dual UEFI BIOSes and Ultra Durable 4 technology, something that most if not all Intel boards on the Rectron pricelist have been coming out with for some time now already! So if Rectron can bring in the latest Intel boards I fail to see why they cannot bring in the latest AMD boards as well.
