Paying for nothing for the past 2 years

I took out a contract in 2011 March with Nashua (modem) the modem didn't work after I received It they called me and stated that the sim number was already issued to someone I went and they did a sim swap... 2 years later I have been paying for nothing because when I went to Nashua to cancel the contract the sales person advised me to take a cheaper moderm more like renewing my contract unfortunately I didn't receive the modern and yet I was still paying. I went to Nashua to cancel everything only to learn that all this years I was paying for nothing because the number they gave me had problems when they had to activate it 2011.
