Can't help if not booked for service

My wife's Kia Sedona would not start and left her stranded at school where she had gone to pick up children. We managed to get it jump started and I drove straight to Kia to ask for assistance. They told me they were too busy and that I should book an appointment for Monday (this was on Friday afternoon). Only when I protested did they say they can assist. There are signs all over saying family-like care, but this is more like a dysfunctional family when they don't even want to help?
