Fedex Express
Accident involving Fedex vehicle

On the 26th March 2013 I was out on a training ride with my mountain bike. At a four way Stop street controlled intersection I stopped, checked all directions and proceeded to cross the intersection. Whilst I was busy crossing the intersection a Fedex Toyota Avanza (XXV979GP), at the time being driven by Stephen Phaho, a Fedex employee skipped the Stop street and collided with me on my bike at high speed. The force of the impact shattered the vehicles windscreen. The police and medical services arrived and assisted me. An Officers Accident Report form was completed, and the driver admitted that he skipped the stop street thus causing the collision, where after he signed the OAR. As a result of the accident I sustained several scrapes and bruises, and my high end carbon fiber mountain bike was completely destroyed.

We contacted several people at Fedex, and addressed correspondence requesting payment of the replacement value of the bike, attaching invoices. But to date they have not addressed the issue at all, and are trying to avoid liability.
