My name is Yusuf from Durban. I drive a new spec 2013 X3 2.0d with sport pack. I had an unfortunate incident on the 10th Jan 2013 on returning from my holiday. It was a rainy afternoon near Richmond in KZN when I went over a pothole that ripped the middle of my rear tyre. To cut the long story short, I pulled over and went to change the tyre. I realised that the vehicle doesn't have a spare (not even a biscuit), no jack, no wheel spanner but hah! a compressor for inflating the tyre??? I was even more surprised when I called the customer contact centre to be informed that the vehicle will be towed to PMB but not Durban (I reside in Durban), BMW "loans" out tyres but only up to 18 inch. My tyre is 19 inch so they could not help me... 3 kids a mum that's a pensioner and a wife... stranded in the middle of no where and NO help from BMW... is this your version of customer care? I had to leave my family and walk about half km to "borrow" a jack and wheel spanner, remove my tyre, get a lift to Durban... I mean really a vehicle that costs R600 000? Really I get better service from VW for my VIVO Base
