I bought a set of rear RFT tyres for my vehicle (255/39R19) for almost R10 000.00. I realised mmediately after their fitment that my car was rattling everytime I exceeded 100km/h and I also had to pump 1 of them every single day due to a slow punch. I observed this for some time and eventually decided to go back to TWT to find out what the problem might be. They did a thorough check and informed me that the the tyre actually had a factory defect. Roger (Assistant Manager) told me that normally Pirelli would credit them for a tyre and I would get a replacement as a result. He said he will arrange with their (Pirelli) representative to come over. A date was set and I was asked to bring my car over for the guy to see the tyre as per our agreement. All he did on ther day was to put the entire wheel in the water to check for leaks and he stopped the enire process once he realised that my mag had cracked (as a result of being driven on a flat tyre). In the first place the defect wasn't necessarily about a leak. He was just arrogant and non cooperative and totally disregarded my explanation. and the the manager actually took his side. I actually had to pop out another R5 000.00 for new 1.
