I bought my Hyundai I10 6 months old from Stellenbosch (not an industrial area) This car was originally bought new from the Stellenbosch Hyundai in July 2011, brand new.
I live in sea point, not on beach road by the ocean and car has never been by industrial sites with only 12500 km on which is very low millage.
The car is speckled with rust on the back, sides and bonnet which is getting worse over time. I discussed it at A1 panel beaters (as instructed by Hyundai) and we agreed a manufacturing fault so I got the quote and handed it to Hyundai when I did the service recently. Manager, Richard Joubert required a secondary quote and never indicated an industrial issue when he inspected the car. I think this is a complete to offer a warrentee on rust and then blame an industrial issue. How can a motor brand like hyundai advertise a 5 year rust warentee and then not actually fix rust on a 1 and a half year old vehicle? Consumer protection act should be enforced and I am sad that it requires me to post this message on this site in order to fix a manafacturing fault of rust which is well within the 5 year warentee period
