Pathetic service

On Friday 20 December 2013 a package containing my sister's Christmas present was posted to me. It was specifically sent via speed services couriers as it needed to be with me by the 24th, today. On the 23rd I tracked the package via the speed services package, just to see it hadn't left he original post office. I visited my local post office this morning to try and find out what was going on. According to them, the package was only scanned out yesterday, 23rd. This, after my friend who posted the package, was promised that the package would reach me today at the latest. I phoned speed services this morning to try and sort it out, as my post office told me that the package will only arrive Friday the 27th, a WEEK AFTER POSTING, and TWO DAYS AFTER CHRISTMAS!!! It is pathetic and a breach of the consumer protection act as the service provided is definitely not what is advertised. I also had to pay R70 for something that takes exactly the same time as an econoparcel at R21.50.
After asking to speak to the supervisor at the speed services call center I was told that she is away from her desk, my details were taken and I was told she will phone me back. No call from her yet.. PATHETIC
