Prior to leaving for Cape Town on the 13/12/12 I had the Wheel Alignment and Tyres checked by Tyger W&T. Nothing untoward was reported. In the vicinity of Graaf Reinet the L/R tyre deflated very quickly. I am not sure if the tyre was punctured or if it failed, but there is severe damage to the side wall when we reached Mossel Bay I noticed the steering had started to shake from side to side even at low speeds. On 17/12/12 I telephoned GM &explained the problem & was advised not to drive the car. GM arranged for the car to be taken to Thorp Plumstead - car hire was arranged as we had made bookings to stay in Robertson for 3 days. After day one, I was shocked to learn that the car hire was only for 24hrs (not told this). I was advised telephonically by Thorp that the steering was damaged and not covered by warranty (cost quoted R6K). After my daughter discussed with Frank Carni (service manager) - who was quite rude, he sent a quote for R12359 & said it could take a while as parts had to ordered. I then completed a claim form and my Insurer sent an assessor who reported that there was NO DAMAGE! I am out of pocket R750 for car hire deposit which was not refunded, have no faith
