On the 23rd of November my fianc? and I were involved in a motor vehicle accident on Malibogwe Drive in Randburg. Although no-one was seriously injured we were in a state of shock after being rear-ended by a drunk driver. We arranged with the tow-truck on scene to tow our vehicle to Club Motors BMW (approximately 1km away) we were quoted by R1500.00 by two members of A1 Auto Assist. We were told that R1500 was an insurance negotiated rate by a guy named Africa, this was confirmed by his supervisor who was also on scene.
The car was subsequently written off by the Insurance company. We arranged to sell the wreck to a salvage company. In order to get release of the wreck we needed to settle the towing invoice. R4000.00!!! for less than a km!!!
I contacted A1 and left a number of messages for Erica (who is apparently a director) I received no response. Today I spoke with Carol who had the poorest attitude on any person I've ever had the displeasure of dealing with. They have no interest in assisting or entertaining the quote we received from their employees - apparently they are aware that we have no choice but to settle the invoice in order to release the vehicle.
