I'm a preacher & full-time volunteer at a scheme feeding the poorest of the poor.
Critical to my work is my Opel 160i which broke down 1yr ago.
I approached my neighbor (a mechanic working from home) Ben Hutton to overhaul it
Price R7, 000
Time 10 days
A friend & sponsor in a desire to support us dealt direct & foolishly paid in R15, 000 in advance - Ben exploited this & kept increasing the price to triple (R20, 000)
After 4 months of continual, daily begging & pleading all I now see is a beautiful newly painted engine that won't start.
He eventually towed the vehicle to an auto electrician who also couldn't start it & called in a "specialist" who started the car & advised a part which we bought
The autolek fitted it & started the car, in order to point out fuel leaks which we had to fix before driving the car back to Mr Hutton's Backyard w/shop at his late mother's house to complete the job
As is my habit I checked for oil & water finding WATER ON THE DIPSTICK & informed Ben
He arrived under protest & began the BLAME GAME now refusing any further involvement saying that either his autolek or I am responsible for the damadges as he was not present when the car was started
