General Motors South Africa
AVOID BUYING A CHEV!!!

The short version, I bought a Chev Utility 1.8 with 21000km on the clock from a Chev Dealership 8 weeks ago. Took it for the 30000km service at a differant branch 2 weeks ago. 2 Days after the service the problem of loosing spark starts again but this time permanently with a large noise. Took it back to the dealership who says your coil pack needs to be replaced. Warranty can be claimed BUT there is no parts in SA. Waiting period 5 to 6 weeks with no courtesy vehicle as the back order for parts is larger than their fleet. Did not even look at the noise which I sorted myself as it was the catalytic converter that fell apart. They did not even bother to even try and assist me!! Eventually got the pack at a scrap yard 2 days later. Contacted the dealership where I bought the vehicle who said the parts are in stock and that they will get back to me as my car need to stand with them. To date and after emails, still no assistance. The aircon also broke and the engine is making noises and I am left having to fix everything myself. Like I said, long story short, DO NOT BUY A CHEV!!! Yes, cars break but there is no excuse for bad service.
