I purchased a brand new polo 2012 model i did not even have my car for a year and on the 12 October 2013 whilst driving i had the worst experience ever i smelled fumes coming out from the engin i then quickly stopped and saw the my left front fog lamp caught alight luckily i was in a residential area and people came to help me take out the fire as my whole car could have burnt out as the fire quickly spreaded through the vehicle wiring. This is cleary a factory default and a Manufacturer problem and my insurance said i should take the matter up with VW. i reported this to the MD's office and i was assured this query is at the highest level of complaints and VW has inspected the vehicle already and said it would take months just for them to give me a outcome of what they will do or not do, surely this is unacceptable as they should take liability. I want a Manager or the MD of VW himself to urgently look into this or i will take legal action against VW SA. Not impressed client and consumer of VW vehicles
