Daylight to unknowing customers

I went to the shop about! :30pm and bought a raspberry and samoosa. it came to R17, 80.
i pay with a R50. Nomonde the cashier gives me R32 change. i ask her how much and she says she gave me R32, 20 change. i tell her she gave me R32 and she gives me the 20c with no question.
this leads me to believe that this happens alot to unsuspecting customers.
at the end of the day its my 20c to do as i please, not for them to take it illegally
