I bought a Ford Ecosport 1.0 Trend from Fury Ford and Mazda on William Nicol. The price included a towbar. The agency struggled to obtain the towbar's electrical harness and subsequently delivered the vehicle without it on 2013-10-04 with the understanding that it would be installed in a couple of days.
To date the towbar has not been installed. The dealership sent out a number of enquiries and received unsatisfactory and rather cryptic replies from Ford's Phillip Bell (ESB & Marketing Manager) with absolutely zero commitment (i.e. no planned date of delivery). Mr. Bell's replies also imply that Ford sold products which they knew was not available at the time.
I lodged a formal complaint on 2013-11-13 with Ford in the unfair way I am being dealt with as this is a clear breach of the Consumer Protection Act of South Africa.
Except for an automatic acknowledgement of my correspondence (ref no. 0600023378), I have not received any response from Ford on this matter. I requested also for feedback on a number of occasions but to date, nothing.
I get the idea that they believe the problem will go away if they ignore me...
