I live is Constantia Kloof and own a Dodge Caliber so the obvious place for me to service my car is at Sandown Dodge Constantia Kloof. Called in for a quote on my 72000km service on my 2.0l petrol SXT and they quoted me R6600.00 for just the service. I passed the dodge dealership in Midrand one day and thought i'd just stop to get a printed quote from them. This service quote amounted R3300 for just the service and if i needed to do brakes it would still have been cheaper than the Constantia dealers initial quote. I understand that these 2 dealerships fall under 2 different groups but surely one cannot charge double the price the other has quoted on. Previously Dodge Constantia tried to replace brake pads at 40 odd percent and after me questioning this they said that it was their policy to quoted on brake less than 30-35 percent. I have called the dealer principle several times and gone into the dealership to see him. He offered to match the cost of the other but why should i trust this dealership ever again. How does one ensure that you get an price for a service rendered? Parts prices could differ slightly but what justifies labour quotes at more than double that of the dealership
