I bought my Chev Captiva in 2012, last week my clutch failed and GM arranged for my vehicle to be towed to GM East Rand. The first problem was the call I received from GM advising me that the cost to open my gearbox will be R2500 and they need my approval before they open it as it will be for my cost if they find that my clutch failure is due to my incorrect driving. Today I received a call from GM advising me that they will NOT cover my clutch under warranty as the clutch and flywheel is burned and its due to my bad driving. I have 18 000km on the clock and have NEVER taken my car of road its only town driving to work and back. I drive bear feet and don't keep my foot on my clutch. I have never had this problem before and have had the same driving style for years. I'm SO disappointed in GM especially since my husband and myself have been supporting them for years and now that we have a problem they simply turn their backs to us. The cost to repair my car will be - R17 000.
