During the latest hailstorm the panorama roof on my Disco 3 was damaged.
I called LandRover for a price R9706. Called up TuffStuff and they tell me to use a glazier of my choice.
PG Glass, comes to mind 1st so I call them, they will get back to me on price, authorization and excess.
A while later they call back R22 000, but my insurance will pay and they even offer me a discount on the excess. That is a markup and labour, for? 3 hours, of R12000 - this is ridiculous.
Glasfit, to my knowledge is also accredited by all the insurance Companies so I gave them a call - they will get back to me shortly.
About an hour later Charmaine from Glasfit Blackheath returns my call - R13250 - that is a fair price, they are making money without ripping off my insurer. They got the job.
Car was booked for 08H00 this morning. I arrived shortly after 08H00 and left my car with them. Was told it would take? 3 hours to complete the job. At 10H45 once finished with my other business I arrived back at Glasfit. Job was done and they were just cleaning up where they had worked.
Good service, fair price and friendly service.
I'm happy, my insurer is happy, PG not so happy...
