NO SPARE KEYS CAN BE CUT - FOR MONTHS!!

I bought an Audi from Sydney's Cars in Welkom on August the 30th. One of the items on the snag list was a spare key. The salesman at Sydney's was very helpful and arranged with Lindsay Saker to have a duplicate key made, albeit a plastic key. He fixed a price with the parts department at Lindsay Saker and placed the order for the spare key. Then the fun began. First excuse was that the machine that was broken - this lasted about 3 weeks. Then the lines to Johannesburg were down and they could not exchange e-mails (sic). Then we were told that there was only one person in the whole group who could operate the machine, and he was off sick - another 2 weeks. He then eventually cut a key a week later and sent it to Welkom. The Audi went in for a fitting that lasted the whole day - and the key was wrong. The parts department told me that the key is cut according to the VIN number of the vehicle, so the reason for the new key not fitting MUST be that the locks and the ignition an the whole shebang must have been replaced (sic). Stalemate - they refuse to cut a steel key unless the difference is paid (quite substantial), and they insist that the plastic key MUST work. Ergo STALEMATE
