My Nissan Pathfinder's 4x4 warning light came on 14 months ago and I took the car to Schuss Nissan in Parow which had the vehicle for a total of 3 days and then Group 1 Nissan in Kuilsriver which had it on and off for a total of 7 days. Both dealers said they tested everything and they can't find the problem and both suggested I take it to a Gearbox Specialist or Auto Electrician. I drove the car with the warning light on for 13 months until I could finally take it to an Auto Electrician 2 weeks ago. He found that the transfer box did not have a drop of oil in it. He added 2 cans of oil and the problem was solved. Why take a vehicle to an dealership? They are supposed to be the experts?
I just got another shock when I received a quote from a Nissan Dealer for a set of Mud Flaps for my Pathfinder. The printed quote comes to an amount of R3508 for a set of 4 normal rubber Mud Flaps, it is totally ridiculous, you can get it nowhere else in SA but at a Dealer. I found the exact same items online from a Nissan Dealership in the US for only $43 for the complete set. Nissan SA is ripping us off.
Can we complain to someone or something and if yes, to whom?
