Mercedes-Benz South Africa
Mercedes Benz not serious about safety

I drive a 2008 C200 Mercedes. In 2010 i began to have problems with the rear lights. they were intermittently staying on, even when the lights switch and car were switched off. I complained about this to a dealer ans was informed that is was a known problem and repaired under warranty/motor plan (not sure which one as i did not pay for the repair). the problem as explained to me then was that some pins in connector plug were melted due to short with the negative. now in 2013, i am experiencing the same problem, however i have been requested to cover the cost of this repair via my motor plan for which i am liable for 50%. this amounts to R4000.00. upon escalation to Mercedes Benz South Africa, i was informed that they can not extend goodwill to me. i don't see how a recurring short circuit in the wiring system is equates to goodwill instead of safety. the right from park light is also melted and does not work anymore. the sealing of the head lights are melted. i am told due to excess heat.
