Renault South Africa
Renault CVT Gearbox problems ignored

I purchased my Renault Koleos 2.5 CVT 4x4 new in 2011 and within the first 30, 000km noticed a whining sound like a super charger coming from the gearbox on trips ( - 200km) This noise gets worse get a warning message Automatic Transmission Overheating and revs get limited. If you try and pull off this will sometimes limit the revs at 2000-3000 rpm and not allow any torque to be transferred which is extremely dangerous.
After the 30k and 45k km service I was told that Renault could not detect any fault, after the 60k km service I was asked to take it to RDG as Renault are not capable of diagnosing the CVT gearbox. I got the report from RDG that stated that the gearbox was slipping and needed replacing at about R130, 000. This report was then lost by Renault Benoni. I was then asked to please bring it in when it is making a noise, I normally only get back into town after dark which makes this difficult.
Today I managed to leave early phoned Renault Benoni to be told that nobody was available and the DP suggested RDG after the service manager who was not available previously said that Renault Warranty would not accept this.
Now 105, 000km... Why sell the POS if you cant fix it..
