Shocking Communication / lost out on a new vehicle

Appalled with the service I received. I put down an offer to purchase a Daihatsu Terios last week Friday - papers were all signed and submitted along with all the documents required the same day.

From the beginning before we even signed the papers we told the sales lady that we had cash to settle my current vehicle and a cash deposit to put down on the Terios. This was mentioned more than once over the past week. She kept telling us not to worry.

Finance was approved today and we were ready to move to the next step. A few hours later she called my husband and told him that someone else had put down a deposit today and would be taking the vehicle.

By rights the vehicle is mine as I submitted my application first and had a deposit. When the finance lady called me today to discuss the repayments she wasn't even aware of the deposit as sales lady never mentioned it. I lost out on another vehicle as I had pursued this vehicle that we offered to purchase. I would like to know how this matter is going to be rectified.
