I bought a 2010 Kia Cerato for the total amount of R135964.90 in May 2012 and I wanted to trade the car in on a new one when it came to my attention that I still owe R144000.00 to settle. I then went back to the documents I was given on the day I picked up my car and I found out why I still owe so much. over and above the purchase price I was told when I bought the car which was including VAT they had added VAT on top of the purchase price again and as well as the extras which they charged for. they charged me R8991.24 for delivery, but I had gone to pick up my car! I see they charged me for a warranty but when I bought the car it still had the balance of its motorplan, so how could they charge me for something I already have? when I traded in my old car they gave me R20 000 trade in assistance and I see that amount is exactly the same as the EXTRA VAT they have charged! this is and I am going to send this storey to CARTE BLANCHE if they do not return the extra amount in VAT plus the interest charge from then to date! how many other people have they like this? had the car not been loaded with all this unseen amounts I would be able to get a new car!
