I Bought a VW Amarok BITDI 4 Motion June 2012 and after a year and 3 months we have a re-occuring problem with the alternator.
The first time VW Greenstone said it is a oil pipe that is loos near the alternator and wasn't serious. This was strange as there was oil near the alternator but someone suggested to me this was only an alternator problem.
Yesterday the same problem began and this time the Amarok needed to be towed. The VW roadside assist is brilliant and made sure my wife was safe, two gentlemen also confirmed that this is the alternator.
I also tried to phone VW Greenstone this morning but it seems there is not always someone available to answer the phone.
