Bumper to bumper cover, Alternator NOT covered!!!?

Alternator broke. Sent my car to Stallion Turbo in Pretoria Gardens who in turn was supposed to put in a claim to SA warrenty. SA Warrenty comes back with the Alternator isn't covered with the bumper to bumper insurance. Apparently I misunderstood the meaning of bumper to bumper?
